The realistic target is in 2019, where the number of The worldn publications with an international reputation must be more than 30,000 publications, bearing in mind the large number of potential human resources in the world, especially the functional positions of lecturers, researchers and doctoral students who have the obligation to publish internationally as a requirement for promotion and graduation (Muttaqinfaisal Journal Reviews).
A number of steps have been taken by the government to achieve the goal, for example through the Minister of State Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Regulation on the importance of scientific publications at national and international levels which must be an inseparable need from the Tri Dharma of Higher Education activities. Publication needs are a priority for lecturers in the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.
Besides that lecturers who are still holding a Master’s degree (S2) must improve their academic abilities to obtain a Doctoral degree (S3) in order to achieve the rank of Head Associate Professor. Meanwhile, to achieve the academic position of a Professor, a lecturer is required to have a doctorate and have a publication in a reputable international journal.
Currently the publication of lecturers’ research results in international journals is still very low, especially publications in media that are indexed in reputable international indexers.
One contributing factor is undeveloped writing culture and / or lack of will and ability to write research results and community service in quality scientific periodicals. It is not surprising then that the dissemination of research results and community service through periodic international scientific publications is still low.
The development of culture and abilities, especially motivation to write, is a challenge and a problem that must be overcome immediately. In addition, the obligation of scientific publication in international journals is reputable for graduates of the Doctoral Program, as well as for the Head Lectors and Professors on the Provision of Professional Allowances for Lecturers and Honorary Allowances for Professors.
The number of quality texts is very limited because in general researchers have not had sufficient commitment to publish research results and community service through periodical scientific publications. The motivation to conduct research has not been matched by moral responsibility as a researcher to disseminate the results of his research which are very useful for the wider community both for practical purposes and theoretical development.
With the publication of research results in scientific journals, researchers will get lots of input as well as opportunities to further develop research in the future.
In an effort to increase the number of research publications published in international journals by Unsoed lecturers, all these obstacles need to be addressed immediately. As one of the efforts to provide encouragement for lecturers to publish scientific articles in international journals, in the fiscal year 2019 organized an incentive assistance program to write reputable international journal publications from the results of competitive research. Incentive funds are used to finance article writing, translation, proofreading, the article repair process until it is accepted.
This program aims to:
1). improve the ability of lecturers / researchers to publish their research results in quality and international scientific journals
2). encourage lecturers / researchers to be more courageous to write articles in international scientific journals.
The aim of this program is to increase lecturers’ international scientific publications and increase the quality of research in and the name of The world in the international research arena.
Proposed incentives to write research articles in international journals can be processed if the proposer and article meet the following requirements.
a. The draft article was stated to meet the requirements in terms of the quality of the content and writing.
b. The draft scientific article is the work of the proposer and is free of plagiarism and has never received similar incentives corroborated by a stamped statement.
c. Draft Scientific article written in either The worldn or English.
d. The draft scientific article is the result of research that is not part of a thesis or dissertation.
e. Proposing lecturers who are allowed to join this program are Unsoed lecturers who already have Lector positions.
f. The proposer is the first author and / or correspondent writer with the maximum number of authors in the scientific article is 5 (five) people.
g. The incentive to write articles in international journals is only given to the first author or correspondent writer.
h. The first author and / or correspondent writer must be affiliated with an Unsoed institution and must be included in the article.
i. Applicants are only allowed to receive one incentive for one proposal period.
